They had to be patient, but Brazil with Neymar have managed to come away with their ninth consecutive World Cup qualifying victory thanks to a determined second-half performance. Ecuador defended well for most of the night but as soon as the home side fired themselves into the lead, it was always going to be difficult for the visitors to find a way back into the contest. From then onwards, it was just a case of trying to limit the damage being done by the in-form Selecao.
